Honda Civic: Legendary Quality & Value For Illinois Drivers

Dependable. Reliable. Affordable. Those three words have been the benchmarks of the Honda Civic for many years. Well, now it's time to add another quality to the list: stylish.

Here's the deal:

For many years, Honda kept Civic's styling on the rather conservative side. The compact car was generally not known for pushing the limits in the exterior looks department. That, however, has changed in recent years.

Honda has redesigned the Civic and it now sports an aggressive, stylish and sporty look on the outside. That's right. The Civic now comes with a dose of attitude on the outside. Don't fret, though, as this car still comes with all the quality aspects that has made it one of the best-selling compact cars on the market for many years. The Civic ranks among the top performers in fuel efficiency, residual value and long-term dependability. That won't ever change.

Why? It's simple.

It's a Honda. That means you are getting the best possible value for your money no matter which model you choose. Right now, Serra Honda O'Fallon has a great selection of new Honda models to choose from. You'll find everything from new Accords, CR-V's and Civics, to new Odysseys, Ridgelines and Pilots. Come see why more and more Honda shoppers in the Fairview Heights, Collinsville and Lebanon are turning to us for all their Honda needs. We're conveniently located at 1268 Central Park Drive O'Fallon, IL 62269.

What is the History of the Honda Civic?

Honda launched the Civic into the North American market in 1973. The arrival of the Civic came at an opportune time for the Japanese automaker. Fuel efficient cars like the Civic were in high demand in the market, and the new Honda model was a definite fuel sipper with its forty miles per gallon rating.

The Civic was an immediate hit and Honda followed up the launch of the vehicle by enhancing the power aspects of the car and improving the interior features.

Honda's Civic model became an even more desirable vehicle with the launch of a four-door sedan Civic in 1981. In the following years, the Civic began to grow in dimensions and by 1984, the Civic sedan and wagon variant were the same size as Honda's Accord model.

Civic's dimensions would fluctuate over the next decades based on the ever-changing tastes of the American motoring public. Honda did, however, stay consistent with developing new engine technologies to improve horsepower in the Civic while maintaining optimal fuel efficiency.

For most of the Civic's history, the model maintained a conservative approach to styling. That all changed, however, in 2016 when the automaker released an all-new Civic model. The 2016 Civic featured an aggressive style that was a drastic departure from past models.
