Serving O’Fallon, IL
SUV shoppers with the need for three rows of seating have been drawn to the impressive Honda Pilot for years. This midsize SUV model breaks ground on its fourth generation in the 2023 model year. The latest generation introduces thoughtful updates from bumper to bumper. At Serra Honda O’Fallon, we understand your need to find an SUV that stands up to meet all of your expectations, and we are happy to support your comparison of the 2022 and 2023 versions of the Pilot.
Performance
The 2023 Honda Pilot receives a new 3.5-liter V6 engine, and it creates 285 horsepower. This engine is paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the 2022 Honda Pilot also receives its power from a 3.5-liter V6 gas engine for all trim levels. The 2022 Pilot’s engine creates 280 horsepower, and it’s paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. On the 2022 Honda Pilot, most trims have front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is standard for the 2022 Pilot TrailSport, 2022 Pilot Elite, and 2022 Pilot Black Edition.
For the 2023 Honda Pilot, there is a more rigid frame for improved handling. Some automotive journalists are speculating there may eventually also be a Honda Pilot hybrid model. There is also a rugged 2023 Honda Pilot TrailSport model. This SUV features steel skid plates, a Trail driving mode, standard all-terrain tires, raised off-road tuned suspension, front and rear recovery points, a hill-descent control system, and more.
Appearance
The Honda Pilot’s exterior has undergone a complete redesign. In 2022, the look is defined by a short, slanted hood that trended toward the angled nose. The grille has a rectangular shape. In comparison, the 2023 Honda Pilot is broader with a more squared-off design. The grille is larger and more upright, and the all-new Pilot features a sportier profile and a more powerful stance. Inside, there’s more legroom in both the second row and third row, and there’s more cargo space behind the third row as well. The cabin is full of premium materials, and the center stack features a clean design with a floating touchscreen design.
Features
The 2022 Honda Pilot offers an abundance of standard features, and with the redesign, Honda sought to add to or improve these features. A few of the standard features for the 2023 Honda Pilot include a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, front fog lights, black roof rails, heated seats, and more. Available features include a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, leather upholstery, navigation, a 9-inch HD touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, and more. Additionally, the Honda Sensing® system features improvements to its suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies.
